2016 Oklahoma Commercial Real Estate Forum™ - Earthquakes
A discussion to look at Earthquakes in the Sooner State
REALTORS®, appraisers, educators, developers, contractors, architects, attorneys, government planners, and others in real estate-related professions joined us for a town hall-style meeting on the increasing frequency and magnitude of earthquakes and how they’re impacting commercial real estate in Central Oklahoma.
We discussed and learned:
What’s causing earthquakes in Oklahoma
Construction methods to mitigate the impact of earthquakes
What Building Codes need to be Changed to Accommodate this Increased Frequency
Insurance options to protect your property.
Afterward, our panelists and attendees brainstormed ideas on how our industries can work together to deal with the increasing frequency of earthquakes and make recommendations for the future.
